GOD

Okay, this is the "big" question, Do you believe in God and if you do, what do you believe about God's  characteristics, purpose, and relationship to mankind and the universe? 

While thinking about and responding to this question, I ask you to consider the comments further down the page:

Proverbs 4:10-13  “Dear friend, listen to me and you will have a long, good life.  I will teach you wisdom's ways and lead you in straight paths.  If you live a life guided by wisdom, you won't limp or stumble as you run.  I don't want you ending up in blind alleys, or wasting time making wrong turns.  Carry out my advice; don't relax your grip Guard it well-- for it will lead you to a fulfilled life - your life is at stake!”

If the universe and all within it, including us, did not exist, would God still be and exist?

If God's existence is not dependent on the universe, then can God be defined by one person or the conflicting beliefs of billions of people on Earth?  If God is whole within himself, not needing our interpretation, then where and how do we obtain a correct revelation of who God is? 

If you say that God reveals himself through all religions and they all lead to the same God; How do you accommodate the fact that all religions differ on their core beliefs about God, the spiritual world and relating to God?  If all religions are equal then God is either seriously confused or a sadistic liar.

Can you absolutely prove that God does not exist?  Can you absolutely prove your beliefs about God?  No you can't and neither can I.  Therefore, would you agree that your beliefs about God, whatever they are, are based on a degree of faith?  So like Followers of Christ you have some facts and evidence conjoined with a personal faith that form your beliefs about God.  That being the case, I challenge you to discover the teachings of Jesus and how they compare with other religious thought.  By the way, you can be a Follower of Christ and believe in evolution, life on other planets, etc. - Science does not negate God, in fact scientific discovery continues to validate God!  The movie "Contact" is great!  It speaks volumes about God and faith.
