Becoming a Follower of Jesus

Please read and consider the words of Jesus on the right.  If you desire to become a Follower of Christ, then tell the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus, that you believe in Jesus' message of forgiveness, and his promise of a new and eternal life.  The Holy Spirit will then do some great things within you and lead you in your journey as a Follower of Christ.

It's crucial that you also find a Tribe of Jesus, a church, that will support you in your steps Following Jesus.  Click on the link below to help you find a Tribe.

As all Followers you will continue to have questions about faith and struggles in life.  Jesus modeled for us and told us that as His Followers we need to love and be there for each other.

Each person's journey to God and with God is different in some ways.  If you have an interest in becoming a Follower of Jesus that's great!  We would like to help you with any questions you have.  First, let's see what Jesus tells us about becoming His Follower:

"I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life."  John 5:24 (New Living Translation)

"Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that I, the Son of Man, can give you. For God the Father has sent me for that very purpose."  They replied, "What does God want us to do?"  Jesus told them, "This is what God wants you to do: Believe in the one he has sent."  John 6:27-29  (New Living Translation)

"I came down from heaven not to follow my own whim but to accomplish the will of the One who sent me.     "This, in a nutshell, is that will: that everything handed over to me by the Father be completed--not a single detail missed--and at the wrap-up of time I have everything and everyone put together, upright and whole.  This is what my Father wants: that anyone who sees the Son and trusts who he is and what he does and then aligns with him will enter real life, eternal life. My part is to put them on their feet alive and whole at the completion of time."            John 6:38-40 (The Message)

"Jesus summed it all up when he cried out, "Whoever believes in me, believes not just in me but in the One who sent me.  Whoever looks at me is looking, in fact, at the One who sent me.  I am Light that has come into the world so that all who believe in me won't have to stay any longer in the dark.  "If anyone hears what I am saying and doesn't take it seriously, I don't reject him. I didn't come to reject the world; I came to save the world. But you need to know that whoever puts me off, refusing to take in what I'm saying, is willfully choosing rejection."  John 12:42-48

Paul the Apostle writing to a Tribe of Jesus in Rome said the following about becoming a Follower:

It's the word of faith that welcomes God to go to work and set things right for us. This is the core of our preaching.  Say the welcoming word to God--"Jesus is my Master"--embracing, body and soul, God's work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That's it. You're not "doing" anything; you're simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That's salvation. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: "God has set everything right between him and me!"  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. Scripture reassures us, "No one who trusts God like this--heart and soul--will ever regret it."  It's exactly the same no matter what a person's religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help.  "Everyone who calls, "Help, God!' gets help.  For "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."   From The Book of Romans the 10th Chapter

So after reading and considering the words of Jesus, do you desire to become a Follower of Christ?  If yes, then tell the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus, that you believe in Jesus' message of forgiveness, and his promise of a new and eternal life.  The Holy Spirit will then do some great things within you and lead you in your journey as a Follower of Christ.
